PHP version checker

Check any PHP release against published PHP engine advisories and the official support lifecycle.

Find it with php -v, in WordPress under Tools → Site Health → Info → Server, or in your hosting panel.

Try

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

What it cannot tell you

  • Whether your host or Linux distribution backported a fix under the same version number
  • Vulnerabilities in WordPress, plugins, themes or your own code

How the check works

  1. Your input is parsed into a version (e.g. 8.3.10, 8.4.0RC1, or a distribution build like 8.1.2-1ubuntu2.20).
  2. The branch’s support status is derived from official PHP lifecycle dates.
  3. Each advisory’s affected range for your branch is compared with your exact version.
  4. Anything the data cannot settle is reported as potentially affected or insufficient information — never as safe.
